Launchy ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Science of People. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Launchy mobile application ("App").
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider, Clerk. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the information you authorize.
Device Information: We collect your device's push notification token to deliver launch alerts. This token is stored securely and used solely for notification delivery.
Location Data: If you grant permission, we collect your precise location to calculate launch site visibility and distance. Location is processed on our servers for visibility calculations and is not stored beyond the session. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Usage Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage data such as screens viewed, features used, and app performance metrics. This helps us improve the App. No personal content is included in analytics.
Crash Reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs, which may include device model, OS version, and stack traces. These are used exclusively for debugging.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect or store payment information. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- Deliver push notifications for launches you follow
- Sync your preferences and followed launches across devices
- Calculate launch site visibility based on your location
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Manage your subscription status
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (database) and Railway (application hosting), both located in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Clerk - Authentication
- Supabase - Database and real-time features
- RevenueCat - Subscription management
- Expo - Push notification delivery
- PostHog - Analytics
- Sentry - Error tracking
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, though anonymized analytics data may be retained.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your account data through the App's settings
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt out of push notifications via device settings
- Revoke location permissions via device settings
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Children's Privacy
Launchy is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email.
